WorldCup goes to the 3rd and last matchweek!

Oh yes indeed, we have passed the second matchweek succesfully, apart from some small problems in group F all matches of matchweek 2 have been played and we are ready to go to the 3rd and last matchweek.

Netherlands played their first match on Sunday against Norway with a clear victory on goldrush and frostbite which makes them one of the 2 teams on the first spot in group F. That means all matches of matchweek 1 have been played without any forfeits matches. Unfortunetly we are a bit behind schedule in the 2nd matchweek, with the small problems in Group F because of the forced matches of Australia to Sunday afternoon, the other matches between NED and SLO and NOR and SLO haven't been scheduled yet, and will probably be forced on Sunday evening.

In Group A, Czech won in a clear victory against the lower seeded Ukraine and are on the number 2 spot in the group now, leaving Hungary behind them on spot 3. Hungary lost their match against the lower seeded Croatia who are doing very well this season, with their stable and skilled lineup they are playing some nice matches and with only a match against the lowest seeded Ukraine to go they are quiet sure of a playoff spot already. Sunday it's going to be decided, will Czech keep their 2nd spot or will Hungary win and take it over?

Also in Group B it's all going about the 2nd spot. With Belgium on top with 2 clear victory's over Estonia and Brazil, they are leaving Austria and Estonia behind to decide which one of them will take the 2nd spot to advance to the playoffs. Estonia have the most chance, they won against Austria already and they will have to play against the lowest seeded Brazil to guarantee their place into the playoffs, Austria have a much harder goal to accomplish, they have to win against Belgium in their last match and hope that Estonia looses atleast 1 map against Brazil.

And yes, in Group C it's also going about the 2nd spot. At the moment Latvia have the best tickets to advance, but the last 2 matches of this group will give the final answer. Latvia will have to win their match against the United Kingdom to guarantee their spot into the next round, but because the UK is performing better it's a bit unlikely that Latvia will take this victory home. That means Russia have a bigger chance to advance, they already won against Latvia in their first match, but lost against the UK in the second week. That means Russia have to win against the lowest seeded Malta to get trough. Malta showed a nice performance against Latvia with winning 1 map, that means they might also take atleast 1 map against Russia. At the moment, Latvia has a better round ratio. If Latvia wins with 4-0 against the UK, they have the 2nd spot in their pocket. If Latvia wins 4-2, Russia have to win either 4-0 or 4-2 to advance. Latvia just needs a better ratio than Russia, if they have the same, Russia advances because they won against Latvia, if they have a worse ratio then Russia will advance.

In Group D we again have the same open 2nd spot, both Israel and Sweden have the chance to take it. The very exciting match between Sweden and Italy is coming up this week and will be added on GamesTV soon. Italy already won 2 matches, that means they are already guaranteed of a spot in the playoffs. Israel and Sweden have the same ratio at the moment, that means Israel have the best chance to advance because they won against Sweden in the first matchweek. Because Sweden have to play against the number 1 of the group, Italy, they have a hard job to get that number 2 spot. Israel have the better papers and are playing against the lowest seeded Iceland in the last matchweek to guarantee their spot in the playoffs. That means their is a big possibility that the almighty team of Sweden is going to drop out of the cup after the group phase if they don't win against Italy, that means we will have a great game to watch Sunday between these 2 teams.

Group E is one of the 3 groups where it's decided already which teams will advance to the playoffs and for which teams their WorldCup season is over already. Only it has to be decided which team will take the first spot in the group to have the chance to play against a lower ended team. Both Portugal and Finland have the chance to take the first spot, the match is going to be playing on Thursday at 21 CET and is of course going to be broadcasted by GamesTV. Unfortunetly the season is over for Denmark and Canada already, they can only decide which one will end up last in the group, and of course which one of them will end up without winning a round. That means also that match will be a bit exciting, I don't think any of them want to ends up last without winning a single map.

Group F is a bit messed up, Australia is currently leading with 1 win against Slovenia together with the Netherlands who won their match against Norway last Sunday. So everything is still possible in this group, on Sunday afternoon the remaining 2 matches of Australia are going to be played against Norway and Netherlands. If they win one of these matches, they have a big chance to advance to the playoffs. The other 2 matches, Slovenia against the Netherlands and against Norway are probably going to be forced to Sunday evening. Those 2 matches will decide which team will advance to the playoffs as 1st and as 2nd seeded team. It's still all to be decided.

In Group G we also have our 2 advancing teams already. Poland and Spain both won their match against the lower seeded teams and will face eachother this matchweek to decide which one of them will pass trough as first seeded team. Japan and USA will still play to decide which one of them will end up last, for the USA it might be a match they'd like to win, or at least win a map because they haven't done that yet. Japan already have a map in their pocket and will play the match to end up on the 3rd spot. The exciting match between Poland and Spain is not scheduled yet, but will be scheduled tonight or otherwise forced to either Sunday or Monday.

Last but definetly not least we have Group H where Germany and Switzerland are placed 1 and 2. Germany won both matches with two 4-0 victory's and are on top of the group with a better round ratio than Switzerland, both teams won their matches so far against the knocked out Chile and France. Germany will play against Switzerland on Sunday at 20 CET to decide which one of them will advance in a better position. The other match is between Chile and France to decide which one will take the last spot in the group, at the moment France is on the spot because they haven't won any map yet. Chile won a map against Switzerland in their first game which gives them the 3rd spot.

That means there are some great matches coming up this week, some of them have been scheduled already, some of them are going to be forced, but that won't take the excitement away.

The UK is sure if their spot already, Latvia can take the 2nd spot by winning against the UK, but Russia have a better ticket and a lower seeded opponent to advance.
Group D - Sunday 3 June at 21:45 CET - Italy vs Sweden
Italy already have their ticket, will Sweden win and take the other ticket or will Israel win their game against the lower seeded Iceland?
Group E - Thursday 31 May at 21:00 CET - Finland vs Portugal
It's already sure that those teams will advance, but they will decide which one of them will advance as first seeded team to have a better chance to face a lower seeded team next round. Will the previous ClanBase NationsCup winner take it or not?
Group F - All to be decided on Sunday
In the afternoon you can see Australia playing their last 2 games against the Netherlands and Norway, the other 2 Slovenian matches still have to be scheduled.
Group G - To be scheduled - Poland vs Spain
It's already decided that both teams will advance, only the question is which one of them as top seeded team.
Group H - Sunday 3 June at 20:00 CET - Germany vs Switzerland
