ET United LAN Prices and discount

Payment deadline: Tuesday 13th of October

With less than three weeks remaining until the LAN's payment deadline, it is time for a short update. Since our last post, we have maintained close contact with Botkamp. Botkamp has requested that by the end of August, we confirm whether or not we would like to use the location for our LAN. It is of serious importance to us that by this deadline, we have a reasonable number of teams who are registered and fully paid. The number of teams registered and paid by this date will allow us to make assumptions on future occurrences and confirm or reject the venue.

Unfortunately, the costs for the upcoming LAN are significantly higher than the previous one, mostly due to improved equipment. Therefore, we are forced to increase the entry fees of the LAN by 5 euro per format. However, we want to reward teams who help us meet the deadline. Those teams will get a small discount in the form of the "old standard" prices.

This gives the following summary of prices.

Teams paying before 31st of August
3on3: €35 each player
6o6: €65 each player

1x 3on3 team: €105,-
1x 6on6 team: €390,-
1x 6on6 team & 1x 3on3 team: €495,-
1x 6on6 team & 2x 3on3 team: €600,-

Teams paying after 31st of August
3on3: €40 each player
6o6: €70 each player

1x 3on3 team: €120,-
1x 6on6 team: €420,-
1x 6on6 team & 1x 3on3 team: €540,-
1x 6on6 team & 2x 3on3 team: €660,-

Ticket includes:

A seat for the tournament you signed up for;
A high-end gaming PC, a 144 Hz monitor, SteelSeries gaming keyboard, headset and mouse that can be used on LAN.

So here are my predictions. 3er team, 40%, Coffee Time and We pwn all are not going to happen. I have a hard time believing Erase and Rockit will actually go through with it, same goes for 3.14. FiF and Brain Storm I have absolutely no idea about. Visual and Yermanz are probably just waiting out until the last moment. This all means that if my predictions are right, we'll have a whopping 7/8 teams for 6on6. Call my pessimistic, but I don't think this is going to happen.

Regardless of the LAN happening or not, our team (Delirium) will just hang out in Brussels for the weekend. So if anyone's up for having a few drinks, let us know! (You will have to find your own accommodations though).

Also: What is the absolute deadline for teams to pay? And, if the LAN doesn't go ahead, is there a date on which we'll get our money back?

Don't need to worry. Right now we have more teams payed than last LAN and more teams will follow later this week. Botkamp has requested that by the end of August, we confirm whether or not we would like to use the location for our LAN. If it happens that the LAN doesn't go ahead, teams will get their money back.

Rockit has been dominating LANs for 4/5 years already by basically pooling all the best players into a single lineup which changes depending on the internal politics. The scene is dead so that it's unlikely anyone new can improve to the level of experience required.

Shame there aren't more, but the scene is stagnant anyway. CU there?

the current rockit lineup consists of only two players who won the last LAN. certainly another team could be made that would at least challenge them? I guess that would require someone to actually take the initiative, though, which unfortunately ET is lacking these days.

pretty sure most of the LANs for the last 4 years have only had 12-13 teams anyway? :P the truth is, if people paid earlier, more teams would have felt inclined to form before the deadline as last minute teams. instead, all of the main teams were last minute teams too.

I think you ve been to the Enschede Lan, if I remember correctly. Is just that I m very shy, like a real nerd, and did not interact to much with any of you.
